  • Connecting Kids and Nature to Seniors

Camino De Santiago Nature School is hosting an experience booth at the Patchwork Show in Old Town Tustin on Sunday, June 27. Experience booths, hosted by non-profits and businesses, offer complimentary experiences to Patchwork Show attendees. This year, Camino De Santiago Nature School takes their experience booth one step further to include seniors who are not able attend the Patchwork Show in person.

In addition to storytelling every hour, Camino De Santiago Nature School will offer a Nature Craft Activity. “The children who visit the booth will be shown how to make earth pigment paints by crushing rocks. Then, they will use their paints to design a postcard for one of the many senior living center residents in our local area,” said Camino de Santiago Nature School Founder and Director Dawn Robinette. “Each postcard will be pre-addressed with a senior resident’s first name and a bit of information about the senior. Directors from the senior centers have ensured us that their residents would love to receive a hand-painted postcard from a child.”
