Spend five days in Nevada City learning how to teach academics in nature while deepening your own wilderness skills. In this intimate, hands-on workshop (max 10 participants), you’ll learn the practical Learn Through Nature methodology developed over 13 years of teaching grades 1–8 entirely outdoors at The Ohmapi Nature Project.
Mornings focus on nature-based academics through stories, songs, games, and projects. Afternoons are devoted to developing your own skills, like tracking, bird language, plant ID, whittling, and shelter building. Workshop fees include: 5 days of hands-on instruction, evening activities and entertainment, camping on our 30-acre forested campus and meals. If camping is not for you, there are many nearby lodging options.
